Who pays for the site?
You do. Not directly of course (unless you want to -- see below).
Some of the links and banners are affiliate links, so if you follow them
and then buy a product, readingebooks.com will receive a commission. However,
many of the links are not affiliate links. One day we may sell books directly
from the site.
What are encrypted eBooks?
Many formats can be encrypted or unencrypted. Encryption makes a book
difficult to copy or disassemble (i.e., get at the text directly). Microsoft
Reader, PDF, Mobipocket, Palm Reader and Gemstar eBooks can all be encrypted.
The big disadvantage for the reader is that once you have bought an encrypted
eBook, you are unable to replace it with another format (if you change
your hardware or software, for example), unless you buy another copy in
another format.
